Ruidoso sits below Ski Apache in the Sacramento Mountains. Midtown follows Sudderth Drive, Upper Canyon climbs west into the pines, Grindstone Lake lies south of town, and Ruidoso Downs continues east along US 70.
Ski Apache has 55 trails across 750 acres when fully open. Ruidoso supplies the cabins, breakfast, and dinner below a separate mountain drive.
Upper Canyon favors wooded cabins and decks; Midtown puts coffee, shops, and dinner within a shorter walk or drive.
Grindstone Lake has boating and an 18-mile trail system. Ski Apache adds weekend gondola rides and mountain activities, while Ruidoso Downs runs its own race calendar.
Ruidoso is not a slope-side village. Lodging and restaurants sit below Ski Apache, so the mountain drive and the hours back in town are separate parts of the day.

Ski Apache rises well above Ruidoso, so breakfast, the Ski Run Road drive, and the descent belong on the same daylight plan. Midtown and Upper Canyon handle the evening after the lifts close.
